Sisterhood of the Traveling Butterfly

Time passes . . . . .

Life happens . . . .

Distance separates . . . .

Children grow up . . . .

Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes. Men don't do that they're suppose to do . . . .

Hearts break. Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Careers end . . . .

BUT . . . . .Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach . . . . .

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end . . . . .

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you . . . . or come in and carry you out. Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters. . . .

Daughter-in-laws, sisters, sister-in-laws, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joy or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other . . . Every day, we need each other still.

Pass this on to all the women who help make your life meaningful. I just did. Short and very sweet. There are more than twenty angels in this world. Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine are playing. And one is reading this at this moment.

Scripture for the Day

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalms 103:12

We are so blessed to have a Heavenly Father that forgives us, loves us and watches over us. Dear Lord thank you for your many blessings.

Moms are Special - I Miss Her

My Mom was so very special. She taught me so much - it's funny how much you realize that after they are gone. She had a long battle with lung cancer but had been in remission for years. She loved her flowers and plants in the yard and could name every one of them. My Mom taught me so much about cooking - use to come home from school and watch her cook supper. Mom loved Christmas she was just like a 4 year old and it rubbed off on me and my sister, Sheila. My Mom was a child of Christ and I know she is in heaven today. She was one of my biggest supporters when I was in nursing school. I talked to her everyday. I think that was the hardest thing after she was gone was reaching for the phone to call and realizing she was not there to answer. She did give me a very precious gift, that's my sister, Sheila. We miss her together and share so many precious memories.

Special Women

I know u are like me and have some very special women in your life - whether they are sisters, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins or some really great friends - that you could not make it without their love, humor and support.

This is for all the special women in our lives:

May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gits that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

GO NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!!

Who Dat!! Them Saints rolled over the Arizona Cardinals 45 to 14!!! Go Saints!!! Woo Hoo!!

Holy Alphabet

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but . . .
Zion waits in glory . . . where none are ever sad!
